Website Project Questionnaire

This is the actual intake form used to scope every custom website project — not a sales page, the real working document. Answering these once, honestly, up front avoids the slow back-and-forth that usually stretches a build out.

1. Identity & Credentials

  1. Your full name/business name, exactly as it should appear on the site.
  2. Your professional title or trade.
  3. Any licenses, registration numbers, or certifications that should be displayed.
  4. Your specializations or areas of focus.
  5. What language(s) should the site be in?

2. Services

  1. What do you actually offer? List everything, even things that feel obvious.
  2. Remote/online, in-person only, or both?
  3. Should pricing be shown on the site, or handled privately on contact?
  4. Who is your ideal client or customer?

3. Contact & Booking

  1. Physical address, if relevant, or "online only."
  2. Phone/WhatsApp number for the site.
  3. Email address for the site.
  4. How should people actually reach you — message, call, an online booking calendar, a form?
  5. Working days/hours.

4. Content & Voice

  1. A short bio in your own words — background, why you do this work (2-4 sentences is plenty).
  2. What tone fits you: warm and personal, clinical/professional, or a mix?
  3. A photo of yourself you'd like used, if any.
  4. Any specific phrases, values, or approach you want front-and-center.

5. Your Actual Differentiator (this shapes everything else)

  1. What actually makes you different from someone else offering the same thing? The real reason, not modesty.
  2. Think of a first-time visitor to your site. What do you want them to feel by the time they finish reading it?
  3. Is there anything about how people in your field are usually presented online — too clinical, too salesy, too generic — that you want to specifically avoid?
  4. If a colleague or past client described how you work in one or two sentences, what would they say?

6. Design Preferences

  1. What feels closest to you: calm and minimal / warm and personal / modern and clean / something else — describe it.
  2. Colors you're drawn to, or actively dislike, for this.
  3. Photos front-and-center, used sparingly, or lean on imagery/illustration instead?
  4. How much text on the homepage — a lot of detail up front, or just enough to prompt a first message?

7. Legal & Professional Rules

  1. Does your field have advertising rules I should know about — restrictions on testimonials, guarantees, specific claims? You'd know this better than me — flag anything relevant.
  2. Do you want (and are you allowed) to include client testimonials?
  3. If the site has a contact/booking form, is there sensitive data involved that needs a specific privacy notice?

8. Technical & Visual

  1. Do you already own a domain name? If not, I can help pick and register one.
  2. Any existing logo, brand colors, or visual style (business cards, social media)? Send anything you have.
  3. Photos of your space/work you'd like included.
  4. Social media accounts that should be linked from the site.

9. Inspiration (optional)

  1. Any websites — in your field or not — whose look and feel you like? Even one or two examples helps a lot.
That's everything needed to start. Answers don't need to be polished — rough notes are fine, they get turned into proper site copy afterward. First draft follows once these are answered.
